Of Course, Centralized Course Management Systems
Has the rapid growth and use of course management systems in the last 5 years been just a fluke, or can it be that these systems are beneficial to faculty, students, administrators? Despite the fluttering about for open-source systems, how many of them have usages on the level of the major players, Blackboard and WebCT?
Sure, set up an OS copy of a CMS for a handful of courses, but can you handle say 1000 courses? Integration with registration systems? Use of publisher provided content?
For more, just see what is detailed on the current raft of centralized, deployed, and successul CMSes fas outline in the EduTools site.
Ka-ching! Centralized.
